Washing tower is a new type of gas purification treatment equipment. It is an improved version of the floating packing layer gas purifier and widely used in pre-treatment of industrial waste gas purification, dust removal, and other aspects, with excellent purification effects. For the coal gasification process, gas washing is inevitable, and this unit operation is used in any coal gasification technology. Due to its working principle being similar to the washing process, it is called a washing tower.

Similar to a distillation tower, it consists of a tower body, tray, reboiler, and condenser. Due to the fact that the washing tower is a device for coarse separation, the number of trays is generally small and usually does not exceed ten levels. Suitable for separating mixed gases containing a small amount of dust, the components will not react, and the products should be easily liquefied. Impurities such as dust (also known as high boiling materials) are not easily liquefied or solidified. When the mixed gas is introduced from the middle, due to the presence of product component liquid between the trays, the product component gas liquefies and evaporates, while impurities cannot be liquefied or solidified. When passing through the trays with liquid present, they will be fixed by the product component liquid, producing a washing effect. This is designed and manufactured based on this principle.
