Process Principle
Oxygen can undergo electrochemical corrosion with metals such as carbon steel in humid environments, causing corrosion of iron components and damaging equipment. The reaction equation is as follows:
Fe→ Fe2 2e O2 2H2O 4e →4OH-
This type of corrosion is most likely to occur in high-temperature water supply systems and is quite severe, so it is necessary to remove dissolved oxygen from the water.
Hydrazine deoxygenation is a commonly used chemical deoxygenation method for high parameter boiler units. It exhibits strong reducibility in alkaline aqueous solutions and can reduce dissolved oxygen in water. The reaction is as follows:
N2H4 O2 → N2 H2O
Process Overview
This dosing device mainly includes five parts: the liquid metering pump system, the dissolution system, the metering and dosing system, the safety system, and the control system.
Hydrazine is drawn into the metering system through a water injector, and then added to the dissolution system in proportion to mix evenly with desalinated water or condensed water. It is then added to the boiler feedwater through the metering system. The dosing control can be done manually or automatically based on the control signal output by the upper system.
This device can not only add hydrazine with slight modifications, but also add other oxygen scavengers such as carbazide and dimethyl ketoxime.
