TDA-4B aerosol generator is a portable Laskin nozzle spray type suspended particle generator that can produce submicron oil mist suspended particles of various diameters, with concentrations ranging from 10 to 100 μ g/L, when the flow rate is between 50 and 8100 cubic feet per minute (pressure is 20 psi).
Suspended particle generators and photometers are used for integrity testing or leak source detection testing in efficient air filtration systems. Filter manufacturers use this device to scan ULPA and HEPA (Ultra High Efficiency, High Efficiency) filters to validate their products. The filter argument uses this device to confirm that the filter has not been damaged during transportation and has been installed correctly without any leaks.
With the combination of a suitable suspended particle generator and photometer, some shortcomings of the filter, such as pinholes, thin spots, gasket leaks, structural leaks, or sealing issues, can be quickly and quantitatively detected and corrected to protect the product and personnel.
The functions of TDA-4B and TDA-4B Lite have been improved in several aspects, such as a sturdy stainless steel structure, large filling ports, independent nozzle control, and 3-inch standard sanitary connector output. An optional hose adapter, part number 9300100, is provided for importing suspended particles into the positive pressure system. All that is needed is a supply of clean compressed air to generate submicron suspended particles of various diameters.
TDA-4B has 6 nozzles, and when it is diluted with 810 cubic feet of air per minute at 20 PSI, the gas concentration is around 100 micrograms per liter. Three valves allow the instrument to operate between 1-6 nozzles, providing a wide range of airborne particle concentrations.
TDA-4B is recommended for testing systems with flow rates of 8100 cfm and below. It is an ideal tool for testing leaks in workstations, negative pressure filtration systems, biosafety cabinets, ceiling modules, small cleanrooms, or HEPA filtration units.
