Soxhlet extractor

1. Overview:

The Jinlan series Soxhlet extractor utilizes the principles of solvent reflux and siphoning to continuously extract solid substances with pure solvents, which not only saves solvent and extraction efficiency but also increases efficiency. Grind the solid material before extraction to increase the area of solid-liquid contact. Then, place the solid substance in a filter paper sleeve and place it in an extractor. The lower end of the extractor is connected to a round bottom flask containing solvent, and a reflux condenser tube is connected to the upper end. Heat the round bottom flask to boil the solvent, and the vapor rises through the branch pipe of the extractor, condenses and drips into the extractor. The solvent and solid come into contact for extraction. When the solvent level exceeds the siphon tube, the solvent containing the extract siphons back to the flask, thus extracting a portion of the substance, allowing the solid substance to be continuously extracted by pure solvent and enriching the extracted substance in the flask.

3、 Precautions

1. When extracting and recovering samples, the temperature of the heating pot should not be too high, preferably kept at 45 ℃, and boiling is sufficient.
2. The dried sample needs to be carefully ground to a fine fineness.
3. The filter paper cylinder used in conjunction must be tight, and the height of the sample in the filter paper cylinder cannot exceed the reflux bend. If there is a risk of collection errors, it is necessary to restart.
4. It is better to use it as a supporting material or without water. If laboratory conditions are limited, petroleum ether can be used as a substitute. (Do not use open flames for heating)
