RTO thermal incinerator
The working principle of RTO (Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer) is to oxidize organic waste gas into CO2 and H2O at high temperatures, thereby purifying the waste gas and recovering and decomposing it. Jirun Environmental RTO Process Diagram:

① It can achieve fully automated control, with simple operation, stable operation, and high safety and reliability.
2、 RTO security technology advantages:
1. Hardware security
Mechanical flame arrester: prevents the GRTO oxidation chamber from catching fire due to dust particles or pressure fluctuations that may cause pipeline flashback;
LEL monitor: Strictly control the concentration of GRTO inlet exhaust gas to not exceed 25% LEL;
Concentration detector: If the exhaust gas concentration is high but does not exceed 25% LEL, an online gas concentration detector should be installed at a sufficient distance from the front end, and dilution or bypass methods should be used to safely treat the exhaust gas;
Spray washing tower: effectively reduces the concentration of combustible gases and solid particles entering GRTO, and prolongs the residence time;
Emergency bypass: prevent waste gas exceeding 25% LEL from entering GRTO and causing safety accidents;
Explosion relief door: rapidly reduce furnace pressure;
Thermocouples: Multiple for temperature display, recording, and interlock control;
Differential pressure switch and gauge: prevent furnace blockage;
Emergency stop button: to achieve emergency stop.

2. Software security
Ignition program control: Fresh air is used to blow away residual exhaust gas in the furnace to avoid explosion hazards; Set the GRTO burner as a constant flame device.
High temperature control alarm: The high temperature limiter is independently controlled on the main control panel and requires FM certification for high temperature control alarm;
Emergency power outage system: one emergency compressed air storage tank, UPS, and manually controlled explosion-proof door
Emergency protection for high furnace temperature: dual thermocouple monitoring temperature, interlocking PLC to achieve emergency shutdown;
Smoke exhaust temperature control: The smoke exhaust temperature (thermal storage lower layer temperature) is interlocked with the valve for control
3. Operational security
Safe start-up preheating: First, ignite the main flame of the fuel string, confirm that it is correct, and then introduce natural gas to ignite the main flame for preheating the furnace body;
Blowing: When starting the GRTO, according to NFPA regulations, blow the GRTO first and replace at least 6 times the volume of fresh air in the GRTO;
Temperature control: When the GRTO temperature is abnormal (i.e. the front-end concentration is too high), the PLC program automatically controls the closure of the intake valve, fully opens the abnormal exhaust and fresh air valves, and cools the GRTO equipment through fresh air;
Alarm: When an alarm occurs in the system, it will be displayed on the touch screen when, where, and what type of alarm occurred, facilitating timely troubleshooting of system faults;
Induced draft fan failure: The induced draft fan failure will be automatically shut down for processing
3、 High purification efficiency of RTO
The RTO waste gas treatment project has been accepted and has been operating safely and stably for over a year. The exhaust gas source is spray painting exhaust gas, with an air volume of 140000m3/h and a concentration of 480mg/m3. For projects with high air volume and low concentration, Jirun Environmental Protection adopts a concentration wheel+RTO treatment process, with a purification efficiency of 99%, far below the relevant emission standards.
4、 Advantages of RTO application
RTO can adapt to the VOCs treatment needs of high air volume, high and low concentration changes, and high purification efficiency, meeting strict environmental laws and regulations such as the Environmental Protection Law, the Air Pollution Prevention and Control Law, and the Technical Policy for the Prevention and Control of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) Pollution. At the same time, GRTO zero leakage lifting valves can meet future stricter environmental emission requirements. The safety measures are standardized, the safety control system is complete, the safety design is rigorous, the safety factor is high, the operation is stable, the purification treatment efficiency is high, the one-time investment cost is low, the operation and maintenance cost is low, the cost-effectiveness is high, and there is no secondary pollution. The heat recovery meets the requirements of energy conservation and consumption reduction, and can be applied to various industries such as petrochemical, coal chemical, fine chemical, painting and spraying, printing and packaging, and energy and environmental protection engineering. The market prospect is broad, the market potential is large, and it has broad promotion prospects.
The main structure of the two bed RTO consists of a combustion chamber, two ceramic packed thermal storage beds, and two switching valves. When the VOC exhaust gas is sent into the thermal storage bed 1 by the induced draft fan, the bed releases heat, the VOC exhaust gas is heated, oxidized and burned in the combustion chamber, and the gas passes through the thermal storage bed 2, which absorbs heat. The clean gas after combustion is cooled and discharged through the switching valve. After reaching the specified switching time, the valve switches, and the VOC exhaust gas enters from the thermal storage bed 2. The thermal storage bed 2 releases heat, and the VOC exhaust gas is oxidized and burned. The gas passes through the thermal storage bed 1, which absorbs heat. The clean gas after combustion is cooled and discharged through the switching valve. By periodically switching in this way, VOC waste gas can be continuously treated.
In recent years, foreign countries have also developed rotary RTOs. The device consists of a combustion chamber, a cylindrical ceramic thermal storage bed divided into several independent sections, and a rotary steering gear. By rotating the rotary steering gear, the airflow direction in different areas of the ceramic thermal storage bed can be changed, thereby continuously preheating the VOC exhaust gas. After oxidation and combustion in the combustion chamber, VOCs can be removed.
Compared to valve switching RTOs, rotary RTOs have only one movable component (rotary steering gear), but the disadvantage is that the rotary steering gear is not easy to seal, has a large leakage rate, and affects the purification rate of VOCs.
