The DOS-118B gas oxygen analyzer adopts the principle of spectral method and membrane oxygen measurement (also known as membrane oxygen meter)ClarkElectricity). Molecular oxygen enters the electrolyte through a membrane from a liquid medium, and at a constant oxidation voltage, oxygen is reduced to generate an electric current. The oxygen in the film coated oxygen electrode undergoes the following reaction in neutral electrolyte:

The current is proportional to the oxygen concentration, and the electrolysis current is amplified and calculated by an electronic unit to display the oxygen concentration.
In the process of oxygen reduction, electricity consumes oxygen, which must be continuously supplied by the medium. Therefore, when using instruments to measure oxygen concentration, it is necessary to continuously flow the medium to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the measurement.
