Product Details

GermanyFischerFischerconductivity meterSMP350

Conductivity is an important material property that provides information not only on the ability of metals to conduct current, but also on their composition, microstructure, and mechanical properties. useSIGMASCOPE®SMP350It can easily, quickly, and accurately measure conductivity.

Conductivity measurement, as the inverse value of resistance, not only reflects the performance of metal conduction current, but also indirectly allows you to draw conclusions related to changes in metal composition, microstructure, and mechanical properties. By using FISCHER's measuring instruments, you can quickly and accurately determine these important parameters. The special eddy current method can support non-contact measurement, even under paint or plastic coatings up to 500 μ m thick. This method can also minimize the impact of surface roughness to the greatest extent possible.

SIGMASCOPE SMP350 is a compact handheld device used to measure the conductivity of various metal surfaces and solid substances.

SIGMASCOPE GOLD is a mobile device that can perform non-destructive testing on the authenticity of gold through conductivity.

MMS PC2 adopts a modular system with different measurement techniques, which is very suitable for various needs related to coating thickness measurement and material testing.

Measuring principle

SIGMASCOPE ® SMP350 measures conductivity according to the eddy current phase method DIN EN 2004-1 and ASTM E 1004. This method allows for contactless measurement, even with paint or plastic coatings up to 500 μ m thick, and is almost unaffected by surface roughness.

Measuring conductivity is a major aspect of ensuring quality in the manufacturing, maintenance, and repair processes of aircraft.

Classification of Aluminum Raw Materials

Application

SMP350 can measure the conductivity of any non-magnetic metal. In addition, conductivity provides data on other material properties and is effectively applicable to a wide range of application fields, including:

• Quality assurance and raw material classification

• Identification of coins (e.g. Euro coins with specific conductivity)

• Determine the hardness and strength of the heat treatment material

• Check for thermal damage, material fatigue, and cracks

• Determination of phosphorus content in copper materials

• Track the precipitation process, such as copper chromium alloy

• Test the uniformity of the alloy

• Classification of scrap metal

Hardware

SIGMASCOPE ® SMP350 is equipped with Windows ™ CE operating system and an intuitive high-resolution graphical user interface operated with fingers or a stylus. The corresponding probe can adapt to different measurement frequencies. Equipped with automatic temperature compensation function, the environment or standard sample temperature can be directly obtained from the integrated temperature sensor (or optional external temperature sensor).

Calibration standard block

Due to the fact that eddy current method is a comparative measurement method, the instrument must be calibrated with precise standard blocks in order to obtain accurate measurement values. The certification standard block covers the entire range of conductivity.

The certification standard block is used forSIGMASCOPE®SMP350,Traceable to recognized calibration standards
