This ball valve is mainly used to cut off or connect media in pipelines, and can also be used for fluid regulation and control. Compared with other valve types, it has the following advantages.
1Small fluid resistance, ball valves have the lowest fluid resistance among all valve types, even for reduced diameter ball valves, their fluid resistance is quite small.

2The thrust bearing reduces the friction torque of the valve stem, which can make the valve stem operate smoothly and flexibly for a long time.
3The valve seat has good sealing performance, and the sealing ring is made of elastic materials such as polytetrafluoroethylene. The structure is easy to seal, and the sealing ability of the ball valve increases with the increase of medium pressure.
4The valve stem seal is reliable. As the valve stem only rotates and does not move up or down, the packing seal of the valve stem is not easily damaged, and the sealing ability increases with the increase of medium pressure.
5Due to the good self-lubricating properties of materials such as polytetrafluoroethylene, the friction loss with the ball is small, resulting in a long service life for ball valves.

6The bottom mounted valve stem and the protruding step on the valve stem head prevent the valve stem from spraying out. In the event of a fire causing damage to the valve stem seal, the protruding step can also form a metal contact with the valve body to ensure the valve stem seal.

1Float ball valve: The ball of the ball valve is a float ball. Under the action of medium pressure, the float ball valve can produce a certain displacement and tightly seal the outlet end to ensure the sealing of the outlet end. Floating ball valves have a simple structure and good sealing performance, but the ball valve bears all the load of the working medium transmitted to the outlet sealing ring. Therefore, it is necessary to consider whether the sealing ring material can withstand the load of the spherical medium. When subjected to high-pressure impact, the ball valve may undergo displacement. Low pressure ball valves are commonly used in this structure.
2Fixed ball: does not move under pressure. Fixed ball valves are equipped with floating valve seats. When subjected to medium pressure, the valve seat will move, securing the sealing ring to the ball to ensure sealing. Generally, bearings are installed on the upper and lower shafts of the sphere, with a small working torque distance and suitable for high-pressure large-diameter valves. To reduce the operating torque of ball valves and improve sealing reliability, a layer of oil film is formed by lubricating oil, which not only strengthens the seal but also reduces the operating torque, making it more suitable for high-pressure large-diameter ball valves.
3Elastic ball: The ball valve ball has elasticity. The ball and valve seat sealing ring are both made of metal materials, and the sealing pressure is relatively high. It is impossible to meet the sealing requirements by relying on the pressure of the medium itself, and external force must be applied. This valve is suitable for use in high-temperature and high-pressure media. An elastic sphere is formed by creating an elastic groove at the lower end of its inner wall to obtain elastic force. When closing the channel, the wedge-shaped head of the valve stem is used to lift the ball and press it against the valve seat to achieve sealing. Release the wedge-shaped head before rotating the sphere, and the sphere will return to its original shape, resulting in a smaller gap between the sphere and the valve seat, which can reduce the friction and operating torque of the sealing surface.

4DN50 floating electric stainless steel ball valveDaily use and maintenance:
In order to drive away moisture and prevent condensation, electric actuators can be equipped with electric heating elements inside the host box. Outdoor actuators or environments that are too humid should generally be equipped with electric heating elements.
But some users do not pay enough attention to this, and there are occasional occurrences of circuit short circuits or mold growth caused by condensation. Therefore, we strongly recommend installing actuators outdoors, or even if they are installed indoors, if the local climate is humid, they must be equipped with electric heating elements. Of course, in some applications where the ambient temperature is too high, electric heating elements cannot be used, such as the secondary air system in power plants. In this case, adding electric heating elements would be counterproductive and cause unnecessary trouble.
Similarly, in order to prevent moisture, actuators (with electric heating elements) should also be powered on when stored in humid environments for a long time to ensure that the circuit board does not mold. If the above requirements are not followed, or if the actuator is not equipped with an electric heating element, the actuator main box and control box must be opened for inspection after installation and before powering on. If condensation or circuit mold is found, it must be dried and repaired before powering on for testing, otherwise it will cause damage to the actuator.
