The tapered cone diameter of the cone bending tester (from 3.2 to 38.1mm, or from 1/8 to 1.5 in) allows the coating to stretch at different diameters, enabling accurate evaluation of the adhesion of the coating.
Cone bending tester
The tapered cone diameter of the cone bending tester (from 3.2 to 38.1mm, or from 1/8 to 1.5 in) allows the coating to stretch at different diameters, enabling accurate evaluation of the adhesion of the coating.
The cone shaft is made of stainless steel
■ Can measure test plates with a maximum width of 20.3cm (8in) and a thickness of 1.6mm (1/16in)
Operation steps:
■ Carefully cover the surface of the test plate with paper and clamp it in the fixture between the cone shaft and the operating rod to secure the plate.
Manually operate the bending rods fixed at both ends of the cone shaft to bend the test panel along the cone
Bend the sample 180 degrees with uniform force within 15 seconds
Remove the paper and inspect the areas where the paint film has cracked
Record the location of the crack and measure the distance from the crack to the largest edge of the bending axis diameter
The curve that has been appropriately calibrated can also determine the surface tension extension value of the paint film
