1、 Characteristics and Applications
Induction fan is a part of the ductless jet induced ventilation system, which consists of the supply fan and exhaust fan to form the entire system. The principle is to use a system designed and appropriately multiple induced draft fan nozzles to shoot directional high-speed airflow, induce fresh or processed outdoor air, and deliver it to the required area without air ducts to achieve efficient and economical ventilation and air exchange. When using a ductless jet induced ventilation system, the cost of designing, manufacturing, installing air ducts and other supporting engineering can be saved, which is much more expensive than using an induced draft fan unit. Moreover, the entire floor is used as the ventilation duct, and the required air pressure for the supply and exhaust fans is much smaller than when using pipelines. This allows for the selection of fans with higher wind volume and lower air pressure, reducing the required power and significantly lowering operating and investment costs. When the exhaust fan stops running, the induction fan can still operate, playing a role in local ventilation and air exchange.
The induction fan is equipped with a high-efficiency centrifugal fan, which has low noise, small size, light weight, easy lifting (both vertical and horizontal installation are acceptable), and simple maintenance.
The YDF-I induction fan is generally used in ductless induction ventilation systems and has two structural types: horizontal and vertical/horizontal. The motor used is a single-phase motor specifically designed for the fan.
The YDF-II induction fan is a cabinet type box structure, horizontally installed, and belt driven. Equipped with a three-phase motor, it is generally combined with a spiral circular air duct and a flexible nozzle to form an induced ventilation system with air ducts.
The jet induction series can be designed with intelligent systems that install air quality sensors in the induction space to detect carbon monoxide concentration. The controller automatically controls the start and stop of the induction fan (equipped with intelligent induction fans) to achieve automated control.

2、 Compared with traditional duct ventilation systems, induced ventilation systems have advantages:
1. The system planning and design are simple, with great flexibility in design changes, easy modification, flexible layout, and adjustable spray direction anytime and anywhere;
2. Easy installation, simple construction, can be installed in targeted locations, eliminating blind spots.
3. Easy and convenient maintenance, single machine maintenance, does not affect the operation of the entire system;
4. High ventilation quality, the induction system uses the entire space for air circulation, leaving no dead corners and improving air quality;
5. The fan is made of high-quality cold-rolled flat plates (ultra hard aluminum alloy frame), with a spray painted exterior. The whole machine is beautiful and elegant, and has good coordination with space decoration.
6. The motor adopts a maintenance free fan specific motor, with a built-in high-efficiency centrifugal fan and low noise. The impeller has undergone high-precision dynamic balance verification and has low vibration.

4、 Dimensions and nozzle installation form

The spherical nozzle horizontal induction fan consists of a centrifugal fan, a soundproof box, and three universal spherical nozzles. Rotation angle<60 °, nozzle diameter Φ 80 × 3. Main features: 8 nozzle positions have been added, and the nozzle positions can be adjusted freely to adapt to different designs and actual on-site needs. The unit remains unchanged and the fan efficiency is improved.

(6) YDF-II series ducted induced draft fan external dimensions
The YDF-II series ducted induction fan box consists of a mold stroke frame, a centrifugal fan, and an embedded soundproof static pressure box. The rotation angle is less than 45 °, and the nozzle diameter is 36. The centrifugal fan adopts low air volume and high pressure, with a total pressure greater than or equal to 1750pa. The air duct adopts a spiral pressurized circular tube, equipped with a small diameter nozzle to transmit high-speed air flow and suction capacity. The nozzle is equipped with an air volume regulating valve, which can better adapt to various environments.

5、 Horizontal and vertical installation diagram

The induced draft fan unit is an important intermediate ventilation connection link in the entire air supply and exhaust system. The position of the air inlet and exhaust outlet, as well as the installation position of the induced draft fan, are very important and directly affect whether a reasonable airflow can be formed. The ideal layout is to create a main airflow for air supply and exhaust in the space, and to complete the air supply and exhaust of the entire space through the induced air supply of the induction fan.



6、 Calculation of the number of induced draft fans
The required number of induced draft fans, taking into account ventilation methods (mechanical air supply and exhaust, natural air intake and mechanical exhaust), the presence or absence of partition walls, and the shape of the space, can be calculated based on the area that each induced draft fan needs to bear, and can be determined by referring to the following table:

7、 Introduction to Applicable Scenarios
1. Comparison of ventilation and air exchange effects
The following figure compares the CO concentration between traditional duct systems and induced ventilation systems:
The dark areas display the concentration of carbon monoxide at different points. Traditional air duct ventilation systems are superior to only local ventilation in areas where vehicles pass through, with significantly higher CO concentrations. In contrast, induction ventilation systems have lower average CO concentrations due to full air volume ventilation, and CO concentrations appear near exhaust equipment. If CO sensors are installed, the airflow distribution is uniform, the detection effect is good, and the operation status of the fan can be controlled to save electricity costs.

2. Induced airflow of induced draft fan


According to momentum quantification and jet theory, the induced air volume of the induced fan can be calculated using the following formula: Qx/QO=X/0.37
Note: In the formula, Qx represents the induced airflow of the jet at range X, and QO represents the airflow of the induced fan;
When the end wind speed is 0.5m/s and X=10m, an induced draft fan with an air volume of 650m3/h can induce an air volume of up to 17560m3/h

3. Application scenario diagram

For underground parking lots, it can effectively eliminate the harmful gases emitted by cars, such as those from the tiger beach and other pollutants, save floor space, facilitate the layout of other pipelines, and have better ventilation effects than traditional duct ventilation systems.
Sports venues, indoor swimming pools, exhibition centers, and other high-rise buildings pose a challenge in delivering hot air during winter. By using induction fans, the problem of not yet hot air being delivered can be effectively solved, increasing the bottom temperature and saving energy. In summer, air conditioning airflow can be organized ideally, eliminating dead corners and maintaining comfortable temperatures in all areas.
For workshops, warehouses, and supermarkets, induction fans can be installed above the passages to effectively organize the flow of air without creating blind spots; And with the adjustment of layout, the placement of induced draft fans can be conveniently adjusted.
When paying attention to fire ventilation: 1. Selection of smoke exhaust fan: It is recommended to combine it with the usual exhaust fan in the computer room. 2. The smoke exhaust duct can be arranged according to the principle of "the horizontal distance between the smoke exhaust outlet and the farthest point within the smoke prevention zone shall not exceed 30m", and the diameter and angle of the duct shall be determined according to the wind speed specified in the specifications.
