Equipment Introduction

Wet electrostatic precipitator is an electrostatic precipitator. It directly sprays fine water mist towards the electrode and corona discharge area. The fine water mist is further atomized after being charged in a strong electric field composed of sharp electrodes. Here, the collision, interception, adsorption, and agglomeration of electric field force and charged fine water mist together play a role in collecting dust particles. Finally, the dust particles reach the dust collection rod and are captured under the drive of electric field force: unlike dry electrostatic precipitators that vibrate the ash on the plate to the ash hopper, wet electrostatic precipitators spray water onto the dust collection rod to form a continuous water film, clean the ash with water, and install without vibration. The movable water film flushes the captured dust into the ash hopper and discharges it with water.

The application of wet electrostatic precipitator is dust removal and defogging. It can suppress bottlenecks such as back corona and secondary dust removal in traditional dry electrostatic precipitator technology, and has high dust removal efficiency. According to relevant foreign experience and experimental results from domestic units, wet electrostatic precipitators have good removal effects on acid mist, toxic heavy metals, and PM10, especially fine dust of PM2.5. Therefore, wet electrostatic precipitators can be used for controlling SO3 acid mist and P in power plant M2.5, and have a combined removal effect of various pollutants such as mercury.

Wet electrostatic precipitator is mainly a gas purification system that uses a strong electric field to separate solid and liquid suspended particles from gas. It needs to go through three stages: charging, collection, and dust cleaning. By applying high-voltage direct current to the motor system, a strong electric field is generated between the poles, causing ionization of the surrounding gas and producing a large number of electrons and positive and negative ions. When dusty flue gas and water mist enter the electric field, the dust and fine liquid will be charged at an extremely fast speed under the action of these electrons and ions, and quickly release charges and adsorb onto the electrode of its polarity box under the action of the electric field force. The spray cleaning device sprays water mist with a certain pressure to the electrode surface to accelerate the flow of dusty droplets downward along the surface of the cathode and anode into the ash hopper. Discharged into the sedimentation tank, while the purified gas is discharged into the atmosphere through the outlet. The entire processing involves four complex and interrelated physical processes; Ionization of gases; Aerosols; The coagulation and charging of suspended particles, the movement of charged particles and aerosols towards the electrode, and the cleaning of the electrode plate by the water film.


Performance Characteristics

High dust removal efficiency, low pressure loss, simple operation, low energy consumption, no moving parts, no secondary dust, low maintenance costs, short production downtime, can work below the dew point temperature of flue gas, can be combined with other flue gas treatment equipment due to its compact structure, and diverse design forms.

Wet electrostatic precipitators use liquid flushing to clean the surface of the dust collection electrode, which can effectively collect fine particles (PM2.5 dust, SO3 acid mist, aerosols), heavy metals (Hg, As, Se, Pb, Cr), organic pollutants (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, dioxins), etc. After using a wet electrostatic precipitator, the emission of smoke and dust in wet flue gas can reach 10mg/m or even 5mg/m or less. The dust collection performance is independent of the dust characteristics and is suitable for the treatment of wet flue gas, especially for the treatment of dusty flue gas after wet desulfurization in power plants and steel plants.
