There are many transportation processes both domestically and internationally. Based on the current status and development trends of waste transportation technology in China, there are two typical processes that are most commonly used. According to the direction of movement of materials (garbage) during loading and transportation, they can be divided into two categories: horizontal (horizontal) packing and vertical (vertical) packing.

Vertical container transfer stations have been widely used in garbage transfer stations both domestically and internationally, and are operating well. This process has the advantages of low investment, low operating costs, easy operation, and minimal maintenance, making it a suitable waste transfer station technology for China's national conditions. This process has been successfully applied in multiple places in China.

The garbage collection truck enters the vertical garbage transfer station, and after weighing and measuring, it enters the unloading hall. Different types of garbage enter the corresponding unloading berths for unloading and are unloaded into vertically placed containers. Dry garbage is unloaded into the dry garbage loading container, and wet garbage is unloaded into the wet garbage loading container; Then, the compactor located above the container compacts the garbage inside the container until it is fully loaded, and then the transfer vehicle takes the container out of the berth and transports it to the garbage disposal plant.
This type of garbage transfer station has the following characteristics:
(1) Transport with containers as the coreThe large garbage container in this vertical garbage transfer station is a container type box, which is placed vertically when loaded. The garbage is directly poured into the container from the collection truck, and the garbage inside the container is vertically compacted by a compactor. After the container is filled with garbage, it is converted to a horizontal transportation state by a handling truck.
(2) There are few compression devices.The garbage inside the container is compressed by a compactor suspended above the container. The compactor can move horizontally along the direction of the container berth and can act on multiple container berths. Generally, one compactor can be used for 4-5 container berths. Compared to other types of garbage compression devices, this vertical garbage compression device has fewer compression hosts, and one host can support multiple compartments.
(3) Flexible vehicle configuration.A garbage transfer station can be equipped with one type of vehicle to complete each process of the entire process: a handling vehicle for vertical and horizontal conversion of containers, a transport vehicle for transportation, and an unloading vehicle for unloading.
(4) The transportation process has good environmental performance.There is no need to set up a garbage unloading storage pool, which minimizes the time that garbage is exposed to the outside during unloading and container loading, and reduces the exposure area to a small extent, thereby minimizing the volatilization and diffusion of odors. This process not only greatly improves the working environment of unloading and container loading operations, but also has minimal impact on the environment around the garbage transfer station. In addition, when loading the container, the unloading chute is connected to the container feeding port, which facilitates the smooth unloading of garbage collection vehicles and prevents garbage from scattering during unloading.
(5) Low energy consumption for compacting garbageThe garbage is directly unloaded into the container and vertically compacted by a movable compactor. The inertia generated during the unloading of garbage collection vehicles and the weight of the garbage are both beneficial for the loading of containers and the compaction of garbage inside the containers. So the kinetic energy consumption of compacting garbage is low.
(6) The connection process and interface structure between the container and compactor are simpleWhen the container is vertically loaded, the garbage enters the container through the unloading funnel, and the compactor moves downward from the top of the container to compact the garbage inside the container. There is only a positioning mechanism between the container and compactor, and no locking mechanism is required. The compaction force is borne by the load-bearing surface of the structural components of the container berth. The interface structure between the container and the compactor, due to the smaller working size of the compactor than the inner diameter of the container, does not have a bonding structure between the two when they are accurately positioned (ensured by electrical and mechanical mechanisms). When the container is filled with garbage, the seepage water generated by the compactor when compacting the garbage from top to bottom flows to the bottom of the container. When the compactor returns, the compressed garbage will bounce back, but it will still be inside the container and will not fall outside.
(7) Strong ability to withstand peak impact.The garbage compression ratio is high, the operating environment is good, there are few compression devices, and the transfer efficiency is high. Multiple container parking spaces are set up in the station to facilitate the unloading of collection vehicles during peak hours.
(8) High adaptability to classified garbage collection.Garbage is directly unloaded into containers, so there are several containers unloaded simultaneously in the garbage transfer station operation area, making it easy to collect classified garbage. There is no garbage bin in the garbage transfer station, and each container parking space is independent of each other. According to the requirements of garbage classification, it is stipulated that containers at different container parking spaces should be loaded with different types of garbage. When the garbage collection truck enters the garbage transfer station, as long as the category of the garbage loaded in the garbage collection truck is clearly defined at the garbage weighing and measuring device, the monitoring room can issue instructions to drive the garbage collection truck to the corresponding container parking space for unloading, and the garbage classification and packing transfer can be achieved.
(9) The garbage transfer station has strong continuous operation capability.The garbage transfer container adopts the process of directly unloading into the container, which can transfer garbage even in the event of compression equipment failure, avoiding the accumulation of garbage in the garbage transfer station.
(10) The on-site environment within the station is relatively easy to control.You can choose not to discharge seepage water inside the station, or you can choose to discharge seepage water centrally. When choosing not to discharge seepage water, the seepage water generated during the packing process settles at the bottom of the container. The sealing structure at the bottom of the container ensures that seepage water will not overflow and can be transported to the disposal site for treatment; When choosing to discharge seepage water, the seepage water inside the container is collected and discharged into the sewage collection tank at the transfer station through the external sewage outlet of the container.
