1、 Instrument Descriptionnarrate, recount, state
Soil moisture is an important component of soil and plays a crucial role in crop growth, water-saving irrigation, and more. By using GPS positioning systems to monitor the distribution of soil moisture, a scientific basis is provided for differentiated water-saving irrigation strategies. Accurate water supply is also beneficial for improving crop yield and quality.
The Juchuang JC-TS soil moisture detector is a high-performance, digital moisture measurement instrument launched by our company, which combines sensing technology. This product can accurately measure the moisture content in various soils, helping users to understand the soil moisture situation in real time.

1. Correct use of sensorslaw
Due to the direct measurement of the conductivity of soluble salt ions in soil by electrodes, the soil volume moisture content needs to be higher than about 20% in order for the soluble ions in the soil to accurately reflect the conductivity of the soil. In long-term observation, the measured values after irrigation or rainfall are closer to the true level. If conducting speed testing, water the tested soil first and measure it after the water has fully penetrated.
If measuring on a harder surface, a hole should be drilled first (with a diameter smaller than the probe diameter), then inserted into the soil and compacted before measuring; The transmitter should be protected from severe vibration and impact, and should not be struck with hard objects. Due to the black packaging of the transmitter, it will rapidly heat up (up to 50 ℃) under strong sunlight. To prevent excessive temperature from affecting the temperature measurement of the transmitter, please pay attention to shading and protection when using it in the field or outdoors.
2. How to measurequantity
(1) Rapid testing method
Select a suitable measurement location, avoid rocks and similar hard objects, ensure that the steel needle does not touch hard objects, discard the topsoil according to the required measurement depth, maintain the original tightness of the soil below, firmly grip the sensor and insert it vertically into the soil, without shaking left or right during insertion. It is recommended to measure multiple times within a small range of one measurement point and calculate the average value.
(2) Buried surveying method
Dig a pit with a diameter of approximately 20cm vertically, insert the sensor steel needle horizontally into the pit wall at a predetermined depth, fill the pit tightly, and stabilize for a period of time. After that, continuous measurements and records can be carried out for several days, months, or even longer.

Instrument maintenance and protectionraise
(1) The metal probe of the instrument should not be inserted into soil or paste like soil (other measured media) for too long to avoid oxidation and water seepage, which may damage the metal surface and internal structure of the probe, resulting in inaccurate or unstable measurement data of the instrument.
(2) After each use of the instrument, the residual material on the surface of the sensor probe must be promptly cleaned with a tissue or scouring pad, and the moisture on the surface of the metal probe must be absorbed by a tissue.
(3) After use, press the power button to turn off the device, clean the sensor to reduce contamination, and save it.
(4) When the instrument is not in use and stored, it should be covered with a protective cap on the metal probe. Do not rub the surface of the metal probe directly with your hands and keep it clean and dry. Keep it away from magnetic objects and other metal objects.
(5) During measurement, the steel needle must be fully inserted into the soil, and the host should be placed in a well ventilated area, kept dry, and not placed in a high acidity or alkalinity environment.
(6) Avoid direct exposure of strong sunlight to the transmitter, which may cause excessive temperature.
(7) Pay attention to lightning protection when using outdoors.
(8) Do not forcefully bend the steel needle, do not pull or tug on the transmitter lead wire, and do not hit or violently impact the transmitter.
(9) The transmitter has a protection level of IP68 and can be completely submerged in water.
(10) Due to the presence of radio frequency electromagnetic radiation in the air, it is not advisable to be in an electrified state for a long time.
(11) The host cannot be turned off during GPS search.
(12) When the humidity in the storage area of the instrument is high, it is recommended to dry the water stains on the surface of the instrument first, and then place it in a ventilated and dry place for 20 minutes before turning it on for use.
(13) If the instrument is not used for a long time, if you do not use the battery for more than 10 days, discharge the battery to 40% to 65% of its stored capacity for storage. Do not leave it in a discharged state for a long time to avoid the battery entering an overdischarged state and causing damage to the battery cells, otherwise it will not be able to resume use. If the instrument is stored for a long time, it is recommended to recharge it to 60% once a month to ensure battery activity.
