Tangential Flow Filtration

Tangential Flow Filtration,TFF

Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF) is currently a widely used membrane separation method. The sample is driven by pressure, and the contents are separated by membrane filtration according to different molecular sizes, achieving the goals of removing pyrogen, displacing solution environment, purification, and concentration.

Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF) is a widely used membrane separation method. Driven by pressure, the contents of the sample can be separated by membrane filtration according to different molecular sizes, so as to remove pyrogen, replace solution environment, purify and concentrate.

The membrane components for tangential flow filtration are usually membrane packs or hollow fiber columns, both of which have multiple models to meet different usage needs. The type and pore size of the membrane material, solution circulation flow rate, pressure on both sides of the membrane, sample temperature, process time, and other parameters are very important for tangential flow filtration. They determine the final process effect, as well as the feasibility and specific plan for large-scale production. The tangential flow filtration equipment at the laboratory scale is dedicated to obtaining feasible process solutions and reliable process parameters, determining suitable process parameters for large-scale experiments and production, and providing effective basis for equipment or system selection.

Liposomes encapsulating small molecule drugs and lipid nanoparticles encapsulating nucleic acid drugs are currently two very popular types of drug carriers, which require tangential flow filtration for sample processing in both research and production.

Liposomes coated with small molecule drugs and lipid nanoparticles coated with nucleic acid drugs are two very popular drug carriers. They need to use tangential flow filtration to treat samples in R & D and production.

According to the retention pore size of the filter membrane, filtration can be classified into clarification filtration, microfiltration, ultrafiltration, nanofiltration, and reverse osmosis. Filtering membranes with different pore sizes using tangential flow operation can be referred to as tangential flow microfiltration and tangential flow nanofiltration.

The filtration can be divided into clarification filtration, microfiltration, ultrafiltration, nanofiltration and reverse osmosis. Tangential flow microfiltration and tangential flow nanofiltration can be referred to as tangential flow microfiltration and tangential flow nanofiltration.
