Cardboard puncture strength tester

The computerized cardboard puncture strength tester is used to test the tear strength of paper materials when a certain number of pre cut edges are torn. It complies with the relevant provisions of ISO 1974 "Determination of Tear Strength of Paper (Elmendorf Method)" and GB455.1 "Determination of Tear Strength of Paper" standards, and is suitable for measuring the tear strength of various types of paper. It can also be used for testing the tear resistance of lower strength cardboard, textiles, leather, film and other sheet composite materials.

Testing principle: A stack of samples (usually 4 layers) with a predetermined pre cut, the pendulum is lifted to a certain height to have a certain potential energy. When the pendulum swings freely, its stored energy is used to tear the sample a fixed distance apart. The potential energy loss of the pendulum is used to measure the work done during the tearing process of the sample.
