Principle: This method is used to determine the viscosity of transparent and opaque products. It uses the gravity flow of the liquid itself to determine the time required for a certain volume of liquid to pass through a calibrated capillary glass tube viscometer at a known temperature. Metric viscosity or dynamic viscosity can be calculated based on the measured dynamic viscosity.
Method summary: Take a certain volume of liquid and control it through a capillary viscometer under strict temperature and fixed liquid level to calculate its flow time. The dynamic viscosity can be obtained by multiplying the flow time with the calibration constant of the viscometer.
Required instruments:
1. Viscometer: After calibration, the viscosity measured by the glass capillary tube can meet the required retest accuracy and retest accuracy.
2. Viscometer bracket: It can firmly hold the viscometer in a constant temperature bath and make it stand vertically.
3. Viscometer temperature regulating tank: It contains a transparent liquid that can keep the sample below the liquid level by less than 20mm or above the bottom of the tank by more than 20mm, and can maintain the temperature change in the tank between 15 and 100 ℃ below ± 0.02 ℃. Outside this temperature range, the temperature change does not exceed ± 0.05 ℃.
4. Thermostat: Check that the thermometer of the dynamic viscosity meter contains appropriate liquid to meet the temperature range. The thermometer needs to be calibrated before use, and the accuracy after calibration is ± 0.02 ℃. If other thermometers have the above accuracy, they can also be used.
