Operating principle
All gases have different thermal conductivity, which we usually refer to as the thermal conductivity (or thermal conductivity coefficient) of gases. Two pairs of matched detectors are installed in a large thermal conductivity detector

The heating wires are placed separately in the sample airflow path and the reference airflow path. The temperature of the heating wire changes with the concentration of the sample gas.

These detectors form a Wheatstone bridge, which is loaded with a constant current source. When the concentration of the measured component in the sample gas changes, the sample gas detector
