What is the difference between a single screw extruder and a twin-screw extruder

Extrusion puffing machines are divided into single screw extrusion puffing machines and twin-screw extrusion puffing machines. What are the differences between single and twin-screw extrusion puffing machines?


Single screw extruder: suitable for single material and general livestock and poultry cooperative feed. The screw of the single screw extruder is composed of a shaft connecting various screw units of different structures. The entire screw consists of three sections: feeding section, kneading section, and melting homogenization section. After entering the barrel from the feeding port, the material undergoes solid conveying, melting, and homogenization processes in the screw, transforming from a loose state to a continuous and plastic dough shape.

Characteristics of single and double screw puffing machine:

1. Adopting * variable frequency speed regulation technology to ensure smoother and more energy-efficient operation of the equipment
2. The screw is treated with alloy steel nitriding, resulting in a longer lifespan of the screw.
3. Forced lubrication system to ensure that the transmission part of the equipment has a longer lifespan.
4. Visual fully automatic temperature control system, temperature control is more intuitive and parameters are more accurate.

difference:

1. The twin-screw molding pressure is very stable, ensuring that the particles are formed together.


2. The strong pumping ability of the twin-screw ensures no backflow or blockage. After strong quenching and tempering, the moisture content in the material is relatively high, and single screw is prone to overflow and backflow in the feeding area, resulting in unstable material flow and machine blockage, while twin-screw does not experience similar situations.


3. It can continuously and stably produce various small particle products. When producing particles with a diameter of 2mm or less, the single screw working condition is unstable, the yield will sharply decrease, and the material type will also deteriorate.


4. Density control is more stable and reliable. The material melts more thoroughly and evenly inside the twin-screw barrel, allowing for precise control of the production of floating, submerged, and slow-release products.
