Introduction to slot feeder

The trough feeder, also known as the reciprocating or oscillating feeder, is one of the earlier feeding equipment used for discharging ore storage tanks. There are many types, and the common feature of their structures is that they are all equipped with adjustable gate plates that can control the height of the material layer; There is a feeding plate that moves forward and backward at the bottom of the feeding trough. The difference lies in the angle of the feeding plate, which is generally inclined downwards by 5 degrees along the unloading direction and has a larger inclination angle (less than the static stacking angle of the material) and a horizontal type with zero angle. The action of the feeding plate includes reciprocating movement, shaking, and swinging. The transmission mechanism is of the crank rotary type.

Working principle of trough feeder

The trough feeder can be installed on the ground or lifted onto the discharge port of the ore bin. The groove bottom plate undergoes reciprocating motion with a stroke rate of 20-60 times/min and a stroke of 20-200mm. The stroke can be adjusted appropriately by the eccentric wheel of the driving device, and the eccentricity is half of the stroke. According to some beneficiation plant production practices, for viscous ores, the eccentricity should not be less than 30mm. The width of the trough body of the trough feeder is about 2-2.5 times the feeding particle size. A large trough feeder can meet the feeding of iron ore with a particle size of less than 500mm. The most commonly used specification is 980 * 1240 trough feeder, with a feeding particle size of 350-0mm, suitable as a feeding equipment for 400 * 600 jaw crushers.
