WindObserver 70 is a sturdy, heated ultrasonic anemometer suitable for the aviation industry and extreme weather environments. This sensor is accepted by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in the United States and the Civil Aviation Administration (CAA) in the United Kingdom for use in observing and recording surface winds. When supplied as part of a suitable automatic weather station, WindObserver meets the requirements of Annex 3 of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Convention.
The head of the anemometer is equipped with a 150W electric heating power, generating 1W/cm2. According to the MILSTD810F testing standard, this ultrasonic anemometer is particularly suitable for use as part of an aviation automatic weather station and is often exposed to extreme weather conditions. The stainless steel structure has no moving parts, so this sensor does not require on-site calibration and only requires minimal maintenance.
