It has very few requirements for the structure of the test piece. The Equostat 3 probe can be directly connected to a laptop or PC. Alternatively, the probe can be inserted into the Equotip 3 indicator device, combining Equostat's Rockwell hardness principle with Equotip 3's Leeb hardness rebound principle, making it a widely used hardness tester. Through real-time user guidance dialog boxes, users can obtain very accurate and highly reproducible measurement results. The measurement of Equostat 3 hardness tester is non-destructive, and due to the low detection load, Equostat 3 will only penetrate the test piece by a few microns. Proceq provides some accessories, such as a measuring clip or several support feet, suitable for manual hardness measurement on various test piece structures.

Principle of Equostat 3 portable Rockwell hardness tester

The hardness testing principle of Equostat 3 follows the fixed Rockwell hardness testing. During the measurement process using the Equostat 3 portable Leeb hardness tester probe, the diamond indenter is pressed into the test piece to be measured, then released and returned to the outside of the material. Continuously measure the depth of penetration of the diamond indenter while applying and releasing the load. Calculate the difference by recording the pressing depths d1 and d2 when applying two limited loads: Δ=d2 – d1. The difference Δ is the measured value of material hardness, independent of the detection direction.
