As a purchaser in a company, it is necessary to pay attention to the eight principles of selecting MM4 frequency converters when choosing automation products. Only by understanding the eight principles of MM4 frequency converter selection can we choose better MM4 frequency converters for the company.

1、 The actual motor current value is used as the basis for selecting the frequency converter. When choosing an MM4 frequency converter, full consideration should be given to the high output harmonics of the frequency converter, which can deteriorate the power factor and efficiency of the motor. Therefore, when choosing electric motors and frequency converters, this situation should be taken into consideration, and appropriate margins should be left to prevent excessive temperature rise and affect the service life of the electric motor.

2、 Select a frequency converter based on the load characteristics. If the load is a constant torque load, Siemens MM4 frequency converter should be selected. If the load is a fan or pump load, MM430 frequency converter should be selected.

3、 Measures should be taken to suppress the impact of long cable on ground coupling capacitance and avoid insufficient output of the frequency converter when it is necessary to operate a long cable frequency converter.

4、 For some high environmental temperatures, high switching frequencies (especially when used in applications with high noise restrictions such as building automation), high altitudes, etc., this can cause the frequency converter to reduce capacity, and the frequency converter needs to be amplified by one level for selection. If the power supply of the frequency converter is a self-contained power supply, with an inlet reactor added.

5、 When using a frequency converter to drive a gear reduction motor, the application range is limited by the smooth method of gear transformation. When the oil is smooth, there are no constraints in the low-speed range; There is a risk of running out of smooth oil in the high-speed range beyond the additional speed. Therefore, do not exceed the allowable speed limit.

6、 When driving a wound rotor asynchronous motor with a frequency converter, most existing motors are used. Compared with conventional squirrel cage motors, wound motor windings have lower impedance. Therefore, it is easy to experience overcurrent tripping due to ripple current, so a frequency converter with slightly larger capacity than usual should be selected. Usually, wound motors are used in situations where the flywheel torque GD2 is large, and more attention should be paid when setting the acceleration and deceleration time.

7、 When driving a synchronous motor with a frequency converter, the output capacity will decrease by 10% to 20% compared to the power supply. The continuous output current of the frequency converter should be greater than the product of the additional current of the synchronous motor and the standard value of the synchronous traction current.

8、 When selecting a frequency converter based on the additional current or power value of the electric motor under peak load conditions such as compressors, vibration machines, and hydraulic pumps with large torque fluctuations, it is possible to take maintenance measures for overcurrent due to peak current. Therefore, it is necessary to know the operating conditions of the power frequency and select a frequency converter with an additional output current greater than its larger current.
