4、 Instrument structure and working principle
1. Chemical principles
Under certain acidity conditions, phosphate reacts with molybdate and metavanadate to produce yellow phosphovanadium molybdic acid (commonly known as phosphovanadium molybdenum yellow). Silicates also undergo similar reactions under these conditions, but the acidity is much lower than the acidity required for the above reaction. By controlling the acidity and reaction time, silicon interference can be minimized. When the silicon (SiO2) concentration of this instrument is 5mg/L, the interference generated is less than 0.2mg/PO43-.
The maximum absorption of the above-mentioned color products is around 400nm, and this instrument uses a specially designed 420nm light source for measurement.
