The innovative point of KEM's new generation refractometer (RA-620/RA-600) is a liquid refractometer designed to be easy to operate and space saving. There are two models available: the high-precision RA-620 and the wide range RA-600. RA-620 achieves the world's highest level of high precision, with an accuracy of ± 0.00002. RA-600 has a wide measurement range of 1.3200-1.700. The appearance is half of the previous model (RA-520N/RA-500N), and the footprint is the size that A4 paper can accommodate. The power consumption of 20W is half of the previous model.
In terms of functionality, a color LCD display and touch panel are used, with USB and LAN as standard interfaces to accommodate various expanded devices.

When light enters another transparent medium from one transparent medium, it undergoes refraction, which is caused by the different speeds at which light travels in different media. The refractive index refers to the ratio of the speed at which light propagates in air to the speed at which it propagates in other substances.
Refractive index
The ratio of the speed of light in air to the speed of light in the object being measured, or the ratio of the sine of the incident angle of light passing through the object from air to the sine of the refracted angle, under the conditions of sodium spectrum D-line and 20 ℃.
