The various units of the water plant are relatively independent but have some degree of connection, because the process is independent, so the process is divided into three control units (water intake unit, filter unit, water supply unit). Based on these characteristics, the automation control system generally adopts the PLC automatic control system mode.

The automation control design of water plants using PLC automatic control system generally adopts a one master station and multiple slave stations structure, which can well meet the control and monitoring of domestic water plant automation. The control points are distributed at the positions of the water plant and the actuator. The equipment in the centralized unit area is monitored by the PLC station. Through the communication network, each PLC station is monitored by the upper computer to achieve automatic control of the entire water plant. In the control unit, the PLC station realizes automatic control of the equipment in the unit. This makes the system more reliable, and when a control unit sends a fault, it will not greatly affect the automatic operation of other devices, while reducing wiring costs.
(1) Control room station: Use the upper computer to monitor and record data for the entire system, while leaving four remote (telemetry, remote signaling, remote adjustment, remote control) system interfaces for communication with the upper management system.
(2) Water intake control station: monitoring of water intake pumps, sewage pumps, exhaust valves, etc
(3) Filter control room stations: various backwash filters, sedimentation tank sludge valves.
(4) Water supply control room station: Monitor the water supply pump and sludge discharge pump.
