Electrochemical AC impedance testing systemIntroduction to the instrument:
The 1470E multi-channel electrochemical testing system is a comprehensive testing system designed and manufactured for the study of direct current (DC) and impedance (AC) characteristics of energy storage devices such as batteries, fuel cells, and supercapacitors; Based on the high-speed, wide measurement range, and high resolution of the system, it is also widely used in sensors, coatings, corrosion, and conventional electrochemical testing and analysis.
This system includes one or more 1470E multi-channel constant potential/constant current meters and multi-channel 145x series frequency response analyzers (FRAs), which can be controlled by computer software to perform simultaneous DC and AC impedance testing and analysis on multiple testing systems. Each 1470E provides 8 independent potentiometers/galvanometers, which can simultaneously test 8 different systems. Each channel is independent and can perform the same or different tests on each system. Many conventional standard electrochemical tests include: charge/discharge, open circuit voltage, dynamic potential, dynamic current, cyclic voltammetry, linear scan, chronoamperometry/coulomb, chronoamperometry, fast pulses and steps, impedance measurement, and Ohmic drop measurement.

1. Synchronous impedance measurement
The 145x series FRA with strong transmission capacity (option) can be combined with 1470E * to complete synchronous impedance measurement of multiple batteries. This series of products adopts impedance analysis techniques of single sine correlation and multi sine/FFT, providing ultra-high measurement speed, accuracy, and precision. 1455 FRA provides high-performance impedance measurement in the frequency range of 10mHz to 1MHz; For researchers in the commonly used frequency range of 10 mHz to 100kHz, 1451 FRA can be chosen. Temperature control can be integrated into the system and automatically controlled by a computer through a serial port. Testing of batteries such as SOFC at different temperatures (up to 1000C).
2. Ethernet control
The 1470E and 145xFRA can be controlled locally and remotely through Ethernet networks, allowing experimental setup and system testing to be conducted in different rooms or buildings
3. Anode/cathode DC and AC impedance (optional)
Usually, in battery/fuel cell testing, the auxiliary options provided by the system can only be used to measure DC functionality. This system (with auxiliary channel installation options) not only supports DC testing such as cyclic voltammetry, but also can measure the impedance of the entire battery as a whole or part (such as cathode or anode). This feature allows for a detailed study of the condition of electrode materials or a specific battery in the fuel cell stack. Single sine wave or FFT/multi sine techniques can be used for this test.
4. High power DC and impedance testing
The standard range of voltage and current for any channel of 1470E is 10V/4A. To test high-power batteries, such as fuel cell stacks or batteries under load, the multi-channel 1470E can be connected in parallel to provide high DC loads (up to 28 amperes), and then impedance parallel measurement can be performed using another channel. In this case, the impedance measurement channel does not carry high DC current and only applies a small AC signal, making it more sensitive, with a higher bandwidth, and providing high-quality impedance results. If it is necessary to increase the voltage range, Solartron provides power amplifiers to increase the applied voltage and current range.
5. Quickly switch experiments
FRA is highly integrated with the power testing system, achieving fast synchronous conversion of DC and AC impedance.
6. Security/Termination Restriction Check
When the battery reaches its limit or exceeds the safe range, each channel processor of the 1470E will immediately respond to prevent over testing or damage. Users will be informed of the safety limit range and allowed to take appropriate actions when necessary.
7. Impedance accuracy and stability
The measurement accuracy of Solartron 145x frequency response instrument is 0.1% and 0.1% in the full frequency range from 10mHz to 1MHz. Frequency band width accuracy. The impedance option provides excellent AC measurement performance, with excellent repeatability and stability throughout the entire measurement range. The measurement accuracy of impedance in this system covers the entire range of frequency and impedance.
8. Automatic Points
In sine wave or FFT working mode, automatic integration can optimize testing time, suppress noise and interference signals. Increase the integration time in the presence of interference noise, and use high-speed measurement method when there is no noise frequency to achieve a combination of noise free results and optimized measurement speed.
9. DC bias suppression
The 145x frequency response meter with strong transmission force can suppress any DC bias. This enables all impedance measurements to be within the most sensitive measurement range, providing accurate and noise free measurement results.
