More special light sources
Heraeus manufactures low-pressure and high-pressure mercury vapor lamps, suitable for various applications such as photochemical processing, fluorescence analysis, mercury analyzers, environmental protection equipment, and fixed wavelength detectors.
-
NK Series - Features
-
The Heraeus NK series mercury lamp is a low-pressure, cold cathode ultraviolet lamp developed specifically for use in analytical instruments. They mainly radiate monochromatic mercury resonance spectral lines at 254nm. Compared with traditional ultraviolet lamps, the luminous part of the Heraeus NK series lamp is shorter and designed as a capillary tube, thereby reducing the emissivity of the 254nm spectral line. This type of light source is particularly suitable for optical instruments such as photometers.
Application of NK radiator:
- photometer
- Polarimeter
- Fluorescence meter
- Refractometer
- densimeter
- Mercury vapor detection instrument
- Wavelength calibration of optical measurement system
- sterilization
- ionization
- Formation of free radicals in air and aqueous solutions

Low pressure mercury lamp - HG-2 lamp - features
-
Heraeus has developed a small HG2 low-pressure, low-voltage mercury vapor lamp, mainly suitable for scientific instruments.
This lamp has a highly stable ultraviolet output, mainly radiating mercury resonance spectral lines in the 253.7nm band. When connected to the Heraeus C430 power supply, its spectral line stability is much better than that of deuterium lamps. The other output spectral lines are located in the 313nm, 365nm, 404nm, and 435nm bands, accounting for 20% of the entire ultraviolet output.
Application of HG2 lamp:
The starting voltage of HG2 is only 21V, and the power requirement is 2.7 watts, making it particularly suitable for portable instruments.
-
High pressure mercury lamp
-
Heraeus produces high-pressure mercury lamps for photochemical treatment, fluorescence meters, mercury analyzers, medical and environmental equipment, as well as fixed wavelength detectors.
HPK 125W - Features
The Heraeus HPK high-voltage lamp is used in scientific instruments and other applications that require high stability of ultraviolet radiation and precise arc position.
St Series - Features
The Heraeus St series mercury lamp is a stable high-pressure lamp developed specifically for analytical applications. The ultraviolet spectral band emitted by this series of mercury lamps is very narrow, in fact, they emit a continuous, wavelength reproducible monochromatic spectrum.
-
Blue black light
-
Heraeus produces TW6W blue black light fluorescent lamps, which can emit ultraviolet radiation in the 300-400 nm wavelength range.
Based on its spectral characteristics, this fluorescent lamp can excite certain substances on stamps, oil paintings in darkrooms, bank notes, documents, and rocks to emit fluorescence and phosphorescence, thereby achieving detection purposes.
-
Germicidal lamp
-
Heraeus produces TUV6WE sterilization lamps, which are low-pressure mercury vapor sterilization lamps that mainly emit ultraviolet radiation in the 254nm wavelength range.
The TUV6WE sterilization lamp is mainly used for sterilizing small spaces that are operated by DC power supply and have compact space.
-
Nitrogen oxide lamp
-
This is an infinite discharge lamp, filled with a nitrogen oxygen mixture gas, emitting a spectrum between wavelengths of 200 and 600 nm. Spectral lines with a wavelength of around 200 nm can be used for NO and NO², H²S, NH³Detection of other gases. Heraeus has accumulated years of experience in the manufacturing of such ultraviolet light sources and has close cooperation with relevant OEM manufacturers in the fields of environmental protection and process gas control.
Application fields:
- Combustion chemistry
- Exhaust gas monitoring
-
excimer lamp
-
Excimer lamps are mercury free ultraviolet lamps that emit monochromatic ultraviolet radiation. Due to its narrow color band and single spectral line, specific wavelengths can be selected, making the product particularly suitable for special applications. Because quasi molecular non-polar discharge lamps do not produce infrared radiation, they are highly efficient and energy-saving, without unnecessary thermal effects. The specific wavelengths that can be selected are 172 nm, 222 nm, 282 nm, and 308 nm. For small applications, Heraeus also offers an excimer lamp with a wavelength of 222 nm and a power consumption of 10 W, with a size specification of 50 x 17 mm (length x diameter).
Application fields:
- chemical industry
- petrochemical
- biology
- medical
