Capacity method/The selection criteria for Coulomb method:
The capacity method is suitable for detecting the presence of1-100mgA sample of moisture;
Coulomb method is suitable for detecting substances containing10ug-10mgA sample of moisture.
However, for special samples such as aldehyde samples and insoluble samples, more chloroform should be used/Xylene solubilization should be carried out using volumetric method.
For insoluble viscous samples, the volumetric method should be used.
In practical use, it is important to ensure that the sample can dissolve in the system as much as possible by selecting appropriate solvents or adding solubilizers. If there is a side reaction that interferes with the Karl Fischer stoichiometry between the sample and the reagent, appropriate auxiliary reagents or equipment should be selected to suppress this side reaction.
