EDBV8 uses water as the dual electric fluid, and the water storage container has been integrated into the basic casting to reduce the footprint of the machine tool, improve thermal stability, and provide a chiller, water filtration, and deionization system to maintain water quality. Adopting a 3-sided programmable lifting work slot, the loading and unloading operation conforms to ergonomics and provides excellent working area channels. Using an integrated 2-axis rotating worktable, multiple faces and positions of the workpiece can be approached in one setting. In order to miniaturize non value added motion, EDBV8 uses a dedicated tool system that integrates mold guides and electrode components into a universal pre assembly unit, which can be exchanged within 45 seconds to simultaneously perform ATC (automatic tool change) and AGC (automatic guide rail change) functions. The intermediate guiding system can prevent the electrode from bending and vibrating during the machining process, and can operate stably when using long electrodes.
The design of EDBV8 is aimed at achieving an ideal combination of machining performance, speed, accuracy, and metallurgical quality. The driver of this feature is Makino's advanced Hyperi control, which uses a 24 inch high-definition touchscreen with the Windows 7 operating system. The Hyperi control is an efficient interface that has been streamlined to enhance the capabilities of operators at various skill levels, and includes many intuitive and practical support tools aimed at improving productivity. In electrical discharge machining applications, some common functions have been simplified in Hyperi control, including onboard loops for diffuser shape programming, graphic driven component picking loops, and ***** electrode utilization rates automatically tracked and managed through intelligent electrode length management.
