Application scenarios
Resource utilization of hazardous waste (HW12/HW23 class coating waste residue) that replaces traditional incineration and landfill disposal
Case Brief
Every year, over 10 million tons of paint waste worldwide face problems such as high energy consumption, heavy secondary pollution, and significant resource waste from traditional incineration and landfilling. Tai'an Lebang Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Tai'an Lebang"), in collaboration with a university research team, has focused on tackling the key technology of "high-value utilization of coating waste residue", breaking through the three core processes of low-temperature flash evaporation dehydration, gradient crushing, and full process intelligent control. It has significantly reduced the moisture content of waste residue from 70% to 2%, reduced energy consumption by 20%, and can produce 40-1000 mesh high value-added regenerated powder, solving the technical bottleneck of heat sensitive resin regeneration variability.
At present, Tai'an Lebang Company has built the world's first fully physical automated production line, with a single line processing capacity of 20000 tons per year. It directly reduces carbon dioxide emissions by 11300 tons and VOCs by over 1000 tons annually, adding sales revenue of over 60 million yuan and profits of over 16 million yuan for application enterprises. Each 10000 tons of waste residue regeneration can save resin and pigment raw materials worth about 130 million yuan, achieving significant economic and environmental benefits. It has been successfully selected for the "National Encouraged Development Major Environmental Protection Technology and Equipment Catalogue (2025 Edition)" jointly issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment.
This achievement adopts the transformation model of "deep integration of industry, academia and research+diversified business cooperation". One is collaborative research and development at the source, jointly building a laboratory with Shandong Jianzhu University to undertake provincial-level major scientific and technological projects. Professors from universities take the lead in core technology research and development, consolidating the foundation of "hard technology". The second is business model innovation, which flexibly launches integrated solutions such as "EPC general contracting (technology+equipment), BOT (construction operation transfer), and technology pricing and investment" for the market, effectively meeting the personalized needs of different types of polluting enterprises. The third is policy qualification empowerment, fully utilizing the policy advantages of national high-tech enterprises, specialized and innovative "little giants", and relying on key qualifications such as the "Hazardous Waste Operation License", successfully opening up the entire industrialization channel from "technology research and development" to "compliant disposal" and then to "resource-based product sales".
By establishing flexible and diverse business cooperation mechanisms, the pollution control costs and decision-making thresholds of polluting enterprises have been effectively reduced, and hazardous waste has been transformed into "urban mines", providing a successful technological path and industrial demonstration for building a green, low-carbon, and circular development economic system.
