Recently, the 2026 Third Intelligent Driving "Fengshen List" Challenge was held in Changsha. This competition is hosted by the Industry and Information Technology Bureau of Changsha City, and for the first time in China, a dedicated track for functional unmanned vehicles has been added, including 10 top companies such as JD Logistics, Neolithic, and White Rhino competing on the same track. With the first overall score, JD Logistics' "Lone Wolf" sixth generation intelligent delivery vehicle Plus Edition won the "Best Omnibus Performance Award", once again confirming JD Logistics' industry-leading position in the L4 unmanned delivery field.
This year's challenge takes the environmental sanitation and distribution operations that have already been implemented as practical scenarios, and is divided into three stages: qualification check, scene clearance, and extreme challenge. As the first mass-produced functional unmanned equipment challenge in China, the competition directly tests the perception, decision-making, and interaction abilities of mass-produced unmanned vehicles on real and complex roads. JD Logistics' "Lone Wolf" unmanned vehicle participated in the competition for the first time and achieved the best performance in multiple scenarios. It passed all difficult scenarios with full marks, setting a new industry benchmark for mass-produced commercial distribution equipment.
It is understood that the testing scenarios include pedestrian crossing, low obstacle recognition, temporary construction lane changes, etc. These scenarios have small targets, sudden occurrences, and are prone to misjudgment, which are precisely the situations that are most likely to trigger emergency stops or missed judgments in the daily operation of unmanned delivery vehicles. The sixth generation intelligent delivery vehicle Plus version of the "Lone Wolf" performs stably in these scenarios, which is directly related to its technical configuration.
This model is equipped with a new generation VLM cloud based "fast and slow dual system": the fast system is responsible for real-time response during regular driving, while the slow system calls on cloud computing power to handle rare or complex road conditions, and combines it with a world model based on scene flow prediction. Even when encountering unfamiliar alien obstacles, it can determine their position, speed, and future trajectory. The system adopts an end-to-end solution of "light map", where daily road sections rely on real-time perception of road conditions by onboard sensors, and two independent decision-making links are set up as backups for each other, with one set able to take over in case of abnormalities. After engineering optimization, the vehicle takes less than 300 milliseconds from detecting danger to making evasive or deceleration actions. In terms of hardware, the cargo box has a capacity of 5.5 cubic meters, a maximum load capacity of 1 ton, a full load range of 180 kilometers, and a design lifespan of over 8 years.
As a pioneer in the large-scale operation of L4 unmanned delivery in China, JD Logistics' unmanned vehicles have been operating regularly in cities such as Suqian, Guangzhou, Tianjin, and Shenzhen, and have obtained nighttime road rights in Shenzhen for trial operation in Saudi Arabia. Based on L4 level autonomous driving capabilities and station shuttle and city tour scenarios, this vehicle can achieve 24-hour unmanned transportation, increase turnover efficiency by 50%, and reduce station transportation costs by 21%.
The person in charge of JD Logistics stated that achieving the top spot on the "Fengshen List" with the first place in the entire event is not only a real-life test of the production capability of the sixth generation intelligent delivery vehicle Plus version, but also a concentrated demonstration of JD Logistics' continued leadership in the L4 unmanned delivery field. In the future, JD Logistics will be deployed on a large scale in Changsha for scenarios such as site connections and local delivery. In the critical stage of industrialization of unmanned delivery, JD Logistics will continue to improve the layout of unmanned delivery networks in multiple cities across the country based on mass production capacity and normalized operation, promote the commercialization of L4 level autonomous driving on a larger scale, and lead the unmanned delivery industry to a higher level of industrial development.
