The sound intensity of the gong signal
The sound pressure level generated by a gong or other device with similar sound characteristics at a distance of 1 meter must not be less than 110 decibels.

The structure of the gong
The gong must be made of corrosion-resistant materials and designed to produce clear tones. The diameter of the gong shall not be less than 300 millimeters for vessels with a length of 20 meters or more; For ships with a length of 12 meters or more but less than 20 meters, the diameter of the gong shall not be less than 200 millimeters. If feasible, it is recommended to use a motorized hammer for the gong to ensure a constant striking force, but it must be manually operated. The mass of the hammer shall not be less than 3% of the mass of the gong.
