Recently, Wenzhou's first high-end matcha professional production line was built and put into operation in Xiaguan Town, Cangnan County. This marks that Cangnan, as the core production area of Wenzhou morning tea, is moving from being the "first earliest in Zhejiang" to being the "highland of matcha in southern Zhejiang".
Wenzhou has its own high-end matcha production line to fill the gap
Next to Guanyinling Tea Garden in Xiaguan Town, Cangnan County, a brand new automated production line is operating at full capacity in the processing workshop of Wenzhou Yucha Village Tea Industry Co., Ltd. This is the first high-end matcha professional production line in Wenzhou.
Steam rises in the workshop, and fresh leaves that have just been picked are sent to the assembly line. After undergoing multiple processes such as steam withering, cooling and drying, and stem and leaf separation, the tea leaves are freshly ground into pieces with a green color.
Rolling tea is a primary steamed green tea used to make matcha, which can then be finely ground at low temperatures to produce high-quality matcha, "said Zheng Shunli, the person in charge of the enterprise. Unlike traditional green tea, rolling tea avoids rolling and twisting throughout the entire production process, preserving the complete shape of the leaves. Xiaguan is adjacent to the seaside, and its unique climate makes matcha fresh green and transparent, with a natural seaweed fragrance. "This is a unique differentiation advantage in the domestic matcha track
This year, Zhejiang Province has included matcha in the four core tracks of the province's tea industry. Cangnan took the lead by relying on regional coordinated fiscal special incentive policies, with a total investment of 10.936 million yuan, to build this high standard automated production line. At present, the production line consumes 25000 pounds of fresh leaves per day and produces over 3500 pounds of ground tea per day, filling the market gap in high-end matcha production in Wenzhou and even the coastal areas of China.
An agreement from 'difficult to sell' to 'increasing income' gives tea farmers peace of mind
The production line not only brings technological upgrades, but also tangible benefits in the pockets of tea farmers.
Previously, I was most afraid that tea could not be sold, with prices fluctuating and uncertain throughout the year, "said a tea farmer in Chenghai Village as he picked fresh leaves." Now it's different. The company has signed an agreement with the village to purchase at a guaranteed price, and we will pay according to quality and collect all receivables. We just need to grow the tea well
This agreement that reassures tea farmers is the "Co Prosperity Agreement" signed by Wenzhou Yucha Village Tea Industry Co., Ltd., Chenghai Village Stock Economic Cooperative, and Xiaguan Town. The agreement establishes an institutionalized, quantifiable, and assessable mechanism for promoting shared prosperity: the company pays a fixed consolation fund of 40000 yuan to the village cooperative every year, which is specifically used for low-income farmers' living allowances; Priority will be given to hiring villagers from the village for positions such as tea garden management, fresh leaf picking, production and processing. The annual average number of employees shall not be less than 30, and the labor remuneration shall not be less than 300000 yuan; The order agriculture covers an area of over 300 acres of tea gardens, and the guaranteed purchase completely solves the problem of "difficulty in selling tea".
We are not fighting alone, but we need to work together to create a new highland for the matcha industry in southern Zhejiang. "Zheng Shunli calculated that the company has signed a 2000 acre tea harvesting agreement with farmers, and through order cooperation and guaranteed purchase, it has driven tea farmers to increase their income by 5000 to 8000 yuan per capita. In the future, enterprises will also collaborate with Taishun, Pingyang, Yongjia and other places to expand the scale of the matcha industry in southern Zhejiang, making every green leaf truly a "golden leaf" for farmers to increase income and become prosperous.
The combination of government, school, enterprise cooperation, industry, academia and research to break through the bottleneck of development
Behind good quality lies the powerful support of technology. Cangnan County has established a collaborative mechanism of "government support, university empowerment, and enterprise leadership", linking university research teams, science and technology envoys, and leading matcha enterprises, focusing on key technical links such as matcha variety breeding and organic shading cultivation, and promoting technology research and development and achievement transformation.
Among them, a key cultivation technique was first implemented - the double-layer shading net covering system in tea gardens. This shading structure of "white on top and black on bottom" can precisely regulate the spectrum. Moderate shading can significantly increase chlorophyll and amino acid content, enhance freshness, reduce tea bitterness, and improve the adaptability and sensory quality of matcha from the source. It is this technology that lays the cultivation foundation for the unique seaweed aroma and emerald green color of Cangnan matcha.
To accelerate the promotion of technology, Cangnan plans to organize 1-2 special technical training courses and on-site observation meetings for matcha, providing practical training on standardized cultivation, mechanized picking, and initial processing standards for tea grinding for cooperatives, family farms, and large-scale growers. It is expected that through technological empowerment, the per acre efficiency of tea gardens in the jurisdiction can be increased by more than 30%.
From traditional spring tea picking to high-end matcha deep processing, this green leaf in Cangnan is radiating new vitality. From being the "first in Zhejiang" to becoming the "highland of matcha in southern Zhejiang", this road is getting wider and wider.
