mechb2bIndustry NewsThe effect of fluorine free waterproofing agent on the peel strength of hot-melt adhesive lining fabric
This series of studies compared the effects of four different types of fluorine free waterproofing agents on the finishing of hot-melt adhesive lining fabricsWater repellent effect and intrinsic performanceExplore its waterproof mechanism and its impact on the performance of hot-melt adhesive lining fabric. This article ispeel strengthImpact research.
Note:Waterproof agents 1 and 2 are acrylic based fluorine free waterproofing agents, waterproof agent 3 is silicone based (modified silicone polymer) fluorine free waterproofing agent, and waterproof agent 4 is hyperbranched polymer fluorine free waterproofing agent.
Table 1 Types of Waterproof Finishing Processing for Different Samples
Test method:After sorting the ABCDE samples according to the processing method in Table 1, the same polyamide hot melt adhesive was used for double point dispensing processing, and the peel strength after bonding was tested. The results are detailed in Table 2.
Table 2: The Effect of Waterproof Agent Types on the Peel Strength of Hot Melt Adhesive Interlining
From the above table, it can be seen that usingCompound acrylic acid+organic silicon fluorine free waterproofing agentSample A and sample B of the formula have poor water repellent effect on the fabric surface, resulting in poor dot shape after dispensing. Although its peel strength was relatively high in the initial stage, after washing with water, the peel strength decreased significantly and the degree of attenuation was quite significant.
The waterproofing agent used in sample C belongs to the acrylic ester classIt can quickly form a thin film on the surface of the fabric, shielding the high surface energy of the fabric surface. In this way, the number of bonding sites between hot melt adhesive and fabric is reduced, resulting in lower initial peel strength.
Sample E is a co bath treatment of acrylic waterproofing agent and silicone softenerDue to the low affinity between the two, there was a certain degree of decline in the water repellent effect when used in combination. However, at the same time, this also increases the number of binding sites between hot melt adhesive and fabric, thereby improving the initial peel strength.
The waterproofing agent used in sample D is a hyperbranched polymer fluorine free waterproofing agentThe combination of hydrocarbons and hydrophobic dendritic polymers results in a different water repellent mechanism compared to the other two types of waterproofing agents. After high-temperature setting, the outermost terminal CH3 of dendritic macromolecules will form an ordered crystalline structure on the surface of the fabric. Its low surface tension and high orientation can form an invisible water repellent layer on the surface of the fabric, making the finished fabric have good breathability and water repellent effect, and the water repellent effect is long-lasting and stable, with excellent washing resistance. Therefore, both the initial peel strength and the post wash peel strength are relatively high.
In summary:In actual production, it is necessary to comprehensively consider the customer's requirements for the peel strength of the lining fabric (before and after washing or comprehensive performance?), and then consider the compounding of fluorine free waterproofing agents or other functional additives to achieve the best customer needs.
