How to maintain the granulator
Date: 2022-03-04Read: 0
Plastic granulator is a common machinery in the plastic processing industry, so it is inevitable to encounter some problems during use. How to handle it? What are the things to pay attention to when using it? How should maintenance be carried out after use? Let's follow the editor to learn more!
  Malfunctions and Solutions of Plastic Granulator
1. The screw is running normally without discharging
Reason: Discontinuous feeding of the hopper; Foreign objects blocking or creating "bridging" at the feed inlet; A hard metal object falls into the screw groove and blocks it, preventing normal feeding
Solution: Increase the feeding amount to ensure continuous and stable screw feeding; Stop the machine to remove foreign objects from the material outlet and eliminate the "bridging" phenomenon; If it is confirmed that a metal foreign object has fallen into the screw groove, the machine should be stopped immediately to disassemble the screw and eliminate the metal foreign object.
2. Exhaust hole emitting material
Reason: The raw materials are not clean enough and contain impurities; The feeding speed is too fast, which makes the screw extrusion unstable; Insufficient plasticizing temperature causes problems with screw extrusion.
Solution: Clean the raw materials before feeding or replace the filter screen; Reduce the feeding amount to ensure smooth extrusion of the plasticizing stabilizing screw; Raise the plasticizing temperature.
3. The host does not rotate or stops instantly
Reason: The power supply of the main motor is not connected; Insufficient heating time or one of the heaters not working, resulting in excessive torque and motor overload.
Solution: Check if the host circuit is connected and turn on the power supply; Check the temperature display of each section, confirm the preheating and heating time, check whether each heater is damaged or has poor contact, and eliminate it.
  Precautions for use
1. When the operator fills the material, they must be careful not to add any impurities and control the temperature.
2. If the material does not form into strips and sticks to the mold head when starting up, it is due to the mold head temperature being too high. After a little cooling, it can be normal. Generally, there is no need to stop the machine.
3. The water temperature should generally be between 50-60 ℃. If it is too low, it is easy to break the strip, and if it is too high, it is easy to stick. When starting up, half of the hot water should be added. If there are no conditions, a person can be used to transport the pellet into the pellet cutter for a period of time. After the water temperature rises, it can be automatically cut to prevent strip breakage. After the water temperature exceeds 60 ℃, cold water needs to be circulated inward to maintain the temperature.
4. When cutting, be sure to evenly stretch the strip before feeding it into the mixing roller, otherwise it will damage the granulator. If the exhaust vent is emitting material outwards, it proves that impurities have blocked the filter screen. At this time, the machine must be stopped quickly to replace the mesh, which can be 40-60 mesh.
  Maintenance:
1. Maintain the integrity and cleanliness of the granulator, and promptly clean up the dust and scattered granules from the granulator;
2. Check the operation of the pelletizer at any time, paying attention to any abnormal sound or blockage during pelletizing;
3. Timely remove clumps from the strip material to prevent large chunks from entering the granulator;
4. Strictly prevent foreign objects such as metals from entering the granulator;
5. When starting to pull the strip, first introduce a small amount and remove the head lumps. When producing high impact resistant products, the number of pull strips should not exceed 5, and a single adhesive strip should be introduced later;
