A Brief Discussion on the Daily Malfunctions and Handling Methods of Intelligent Differential Pressure Transmitters

  Intelligent differential pressure transmitterIt has the characteristics of novel design principles, complete varieties and specifications, easy installation and use, safety and explosion prevention. And it is known for its high precision, small size, light weight, sturdy and shock resistant, easy adjustment, good stability, and strong one-way overload capacity. Widely used in industries such as power, petroleum, chemical, metallurgical, light industry, pharmaceuticals, and environmental protection.
  
Differential pressure transmitters can be divided into single chamber and double chamber differential pressure measurement. When the diaphragm of a single pressure measurement transmitter is subjected to pressure, the deformation of the diaphragm causes a change in its resistance. The change in resistance is output through an amplification unit and a conversion unit, and the output signal can correspond to the pressure value. If the diaphragm malfunctions and causes the transmitter to malfunction, the entire feedback loop will experience information transmission errors, leading to the paralysis of the differential pressure control system.
  
1、 Common faults of intelligent differential pressure transmitter
  
The majority of malfunctions that occur during on-site use of differential pressure transmitters are caused by improper usage and installation methods.
  
1. One component (orifice plate, remote measurement connector, etc.) is blocked or installed incorrectly, and the pressure point is unreasonable.
  
2. Leakage or blockage of the pressure tube, residual gas in the filling tube or residual liquid in the filling tube, sediment in the flange of the transmitter process, forming a measurement dead zone.
  
3. The differential pressure transmitter wiring is incorrect, the power supply voltage is too high or too low, and there is poor contact between the indicator head and the instrument wiring terminal.
  
4. Not installed strictly according to technical requirements, and the installation method and on-site environment do not meet technical requirements.
  
2、 Common troubleshooting of intelligent differential pressure transmitter
  
Perform fault detection on differential pressure transmitters that display errors. The specific steps are as follows:
  
1. Disconnect the wiring between the differential pressure transmitter and the secondary instrument, and test the differential pressure transmitter separately. After testing, it was found that the current output value of the differential pressure transmitter slightly exceeded the tolerance, but it was not the main cause of the display error;
  
2. Using a calibrator with standard current output to test the secondary instrument, it was found that the error still occurred and the faulty component was identified as the secondary meter head;
  
3. The on-site inspection personnel estimated based on experience that the error was caused by a short circuit in the wiring. Upon inspection of the circuit, it was found that the welding points at the connection between the secondary instrument and the pressure transmitter were loose, and the current measurement line was disconnected;
  
4. Subsequently, connect the disconnected part of the measuring line, recheck the entire circuit, and debug the differential pressure transmitter separately.
  
5. After debugging the intelligent differential pressure transmitter, the system was restored and the overall calibration/verification of the system was carried out. The result showed that the indication error was controlled within 1/3 of the allowable error. Complete the repair work.
