To ensure the accuracy and lifespan of the flowmeter, it must be installed and used in accordance with the terms specified in the installation manual.

01. The flowmeter must be installed on a horizontal pipeline, with a straight pipe section of>10D before the inlet of the steam flowmeter and a straight pipe section of>5D after the outlet. The inner diameter of the pipeline should be the same as the nominal diameter of the flowmeter.
When the actual diameter of the pipeline is different from the nominal diameter of the flowmeter, in addition to installing the required straight pipe sections at the inlet and outlet of the flowmeter, a horn pipe should be installed for transition connection.
03. When installing a steam flowmeter, the indicator must be placed below the pipeline, and the perpendicularity of the flowmeter's hammer axis to the ground must be less than ± 5 °, otherwise it will affect the measurement accuracy.
04. The flow meter must be installed below the trap to remove liquid phase water.
05. For ease of reading, remove the two bolts connecting the indicator and damper, turn the indicator 90 ° or 180 °, and place it in a position where the dial is easy to read.
06. A pressure gauge must be installed on the inlet measuring straight pipe section of the flowmeter to detect the working pressure of steam flowing through the pipeline.
07. The counting indicator head is located at the bottom of the flowmeter, perpendicular to the steam pipeline.
08. Install a steam filter at the inlet of the flowmeter, and a pressure gauge should be installed on the pipeline to indicate the steam pressure in front of the flowmeter. If measuring superheated steam, a thermometer should also be installed at the inlet.
When the inner diameter of the steam pipeline does not match the nominal diameter of the flowmeter, as long as the flow range of the flowmeter can meet the needs, a tapered (expanded) pipe can be installed under the condition of ensuring the straight pipe section before and after the flowmeter.
10. When passing gas, the valves in the front and rear pipes of the flowmeter should be slowly opened to avoid excessive instantaneous flow and damage to the flowmeter. When the pointer keeps rotating, it indicates that the flowmeter is operating normally. At the same time, check whether the working pressure and pressure scale are consistent.
If they are consistent, they can be put into use. The instantaneous flow rate can be calculated by timing to check the selected [3].
