Erte thermogravimetric analyzerTG or TGA, abbreviated as TG, is an instrument that controls the sample under a certain temperature program (heating/cooling/constant temperature), observes the process of the sample's mass changing with temperature or time, and obtains relevant information such as weight loss ratio, weight loss temperature (starting point, peak value, ending point), and decomposition residue.
1. For one experiment, preheat for about 3 hours before starting up
2. Parameter settings: Press the 【 Settings 】 button to adjust the temperature, heating rate, and other parameters required for the experiment
3. Press the 'Balance' button
4. Place two empty crucibles, one ceramic and one aluminum. When the experimental temperature requirement is higher than 660 ℃, all ceramic crucibles must be used
5. Wait for 3 minutes until the quality display on the Erte thermogravimetric analyzer shows a small change, then press the [Reset] button.
6. Take out one of the crucibles, then load it into the experimental sample, and then put it into the instrument.
7. Wait for 3 minutes until the quality display on the instrument shows a small change, then press the [Run] button and hear a beep to indicate normal operation.
8. Open the software and click on 'Start' on it. Entering the testing phase, experimental graphics will appear on the software.
The Erte thermogravimetric analyzer is widely used in research and development, process optimization, and quality monitoring in various fields such as plastics, rubber, coatings, pharmaceuticals, catalysts, inorganic materials, metal materials, and composite materials. It can determine the thermal and oxidative stability of materials under different atmospheres, and analyze the physical and chemical processes such as decomposition, adsorption, desorption, oxidation, and reduction, including further study of apparent reaction kinetics using thermogravimetric test results. It can quantitatively calculate the composition of substances, determine the content of moisture, volatile components, and various additives and fillers.
