Tygon ® ND 100-80 tube (replacing Tygon S-54-HL) is one of the first non DEHP tube products in the medical industry, especially formulated in higher hardness testers, allowing for the production of smaller diameter tube twists and breaks with higher resistance.

Tygon ® The ND 100-80 comes in five extremely small sizes and can be used for catheters, intravenous or arterial infusion, as well as other surgical and hospital applications. It is hard enough, easy to handle, but soft enough to reduce puncture issues. Due to Tygon ® ND 100-80 is essentially thermoplastic, so it can be made into sleeve or protective sheath products using thermoforming and expansion techniques. Based on the unique chemical properties developed by Saint Gobain, Tygon ® The seal ND series pipes are formulated with chemicals that comply with DEHP regulations (REACH), including R registration, ē valuation, authorization, and restrictions. To ensure compliance, each batch of compounds is tested to ensure DEHP content<1000 ppm. During the extrusion process, the dimensions of individual products can be maintained and monitored through online micrometers and offline verification using computer imaging equipment. Consistent with many medical tube requirements, ND 100-80 material can be effectively bonded/welded using the following methods: heating, electronic (RF)/ultrasound, solvents, and adhesives. Factors to consider when selecting components include the safety of the required bonds, the impact on the integrity of the materials to be connected, and the presence of residues or extractables that may affect biocompatibility. When not using adhesive procedures, it is recommended to use mechanical fixtures to provide a secure connection.
