Detailed information of SP-3420A sulfur phosphorus trace detection dedicated chromatograph:
Flame photometric detector (FPD) uses a hydrogen rich flame to decompose organic compounds containing sulfur and phosphorus heteroatoms, forming excited molecules. When they return to their ground state, they emit light of a certain wavelength. The intensity of this light is directly proportional to the component being measured. So it is a detection method based on the interaction between matter and light, belonging to the photometric method. Because it emits light after molecular excitation, it is a molecular emission detector in photometry. FPD is a highly sensitive and selective detector characterized by a nonlinear response to sulfur, mainly used for trace detection of sulfur and phosphorus compounds.
