The quality control in the manufacturing of large gears mainly focuses on the tooth profile, tooth direction, and pitch runout. At present, domestic manufacturers mainly use traditional measurement methods such as fixed gantry coordinate measuring machines and gear testers to measure gears. However, for large-sized gears with a diameter exceeding 4m, these measurement methods cannot meet the testing requirements due to limitations such as machine range and cost.
Using the Hexagon absolute articulated arm measuring machine and equipped with the powerful QUINDOS measurement software, there is theoretically no limit to the gear diameter that can be detected. Users can also easily achieve rapid on-site measurement of large gears through the frog jumping extension tool as needed.
