Portable Leaf Area Meter

The CI-202 portable leaf area meter is an economical leaf area meter produced by CID Corporation in the United States. It consists of a high-speed handheld scanner, scanning board, data processor, display, function keys, and battery. The scanning board has a guide rail and a transparent film that facilitates the scanner's sliding. When measuring the leaf area, lift the film and place the blade between the film and the plate, then scan the scanner over the transparent film on the scanning plate. Performing a scanning measurement can simultaneously obtain the area, length, width, circumference, aspect ratio, and shape factor of the leaves. Leaf measurement can be performed in vitro or in vivo. This instrument has a 32K memory and can store more than 4000 sets of data, which can be directly transmitted to a computer or printer through an RS232 interface.
