Overview

The Pharma Test PT-TD300 tap density tester is used to test the tap (or "compacted") density and apparent density of powders, particles, pigments, and similar products, in accordance with current USP 616 Method 1 and Method 2, as well as EP 2.9.34, DIN EN ISO 787-11, and ASTM B527. The instrument automatically calculates tap density, Hausner flowability ratio, and Carr compression index after each test, and records the results through an integrated protocol printer. This instrument can be used to obtain additional physical product characteristics, such as fluidity and compressibility. These behavioral characteristics are used together to maintain and improve product quality during the development process, as well as ensure consistency in product quality assurance and process control.
