Pen type hardness tester (sturdy and durable) is a portable hardness tester that is ultra portable. The probe is designed with an integrated host, avoiding the problem of broken wires in the split type connection of the host probe. The testing range of the pocket pen hardness tester is wide, including high quenched tool steel and low soft aluminum. Measurement principle:
The impact body with a hard metal indenter is pushed towards the surface of the specimen by spring force. When the impact body hits the detection surface, it will cause deformation of the surface, which will result in loss of kinetic energy. Calculate the energy loss by measuring the impact and rebound velocities at a distance of 1mm from the surface.

The magnet inside the impact body generates an induced voltage in the coil of the impact device. The voltage of the signal is directly proportional to the velocity of the impactor.

The Leeb hardness is represented by the ratio of the impact velocity and rebound velocity at a distance of 1mm from the surface of the specimen when impacted by a certain quality of impact body under the action of spring force. Using electromagnetic principles, the magnet inside the impact body generates an induced voltage in the coil of the impact device, which is proportional to the velocity of the impact body. The formula is as follows:
