Mal PEG PLL (amino polyethylene glycol polylysine) is a linear amphiphilic block copolymer, with PLL as the hydrophobic moiety and PEG as the hydrophilic moiety. The PLL part has side chain free amino groups. PLL-PEG can self assemble into micelles with functional PLL cores for drug and gene delivery. Maleimide PEG can be used to modify thiol groups. Stable thiol ether bonds can be formed with thiol groups under pH 6.5-7.5 conditions.
