Measure Zeta potential using mass exchange method. System usage
1. Preparation work:
A、 The basic principle for preparing a supporting dielectric solution is that the salt used should not form insoluble surface compounds or surface complexes with the measured colloid, and should not be easily adsorbed with ions.
B、 Prepare a suspension dispersion, know the correct concentration, and disperse it evenly with ultrasound for later use.
C、 Measure the conductivity of the dispersed system. Prepare suspension dispersions of different concentrations and test run them in the instrument (without adding current or voltage) to measure the transmittance of different concentrations and plot them as T-C.
2. Run JN01.exe to enter the main program, click on the Connect option in the options menu to connect the computer to the thick slurry electrophoresis instrument. If the screen displays "Connect OK!", it means that the computer and instrument have been successfully connected. Set the experimental current value, generally using the 0-25mA range with one decimal place.
3. Choose the electrode polarity of the sample collection chamber that can measure transmittance, such as setting it as positive or negative, usually set it as positive.
4. Inject supporting electrolyte into the sample collection room (leaving about 1/10 of the space), and close the small door of the liquid storage room.
5. Add the test sample to the 4/5 position where the storage chamber is filled with the entire chamber.
6. Open the door of the liquid storage chamber, press the "power on" button to supply constant current, press the touch switch, and measure the supplied voltage with a multimeter. If it exceeds 200V, it indicates that there is an open circuit in the system. Reinstall the sample for testing.
7. Cover the front cover of the instrument, automatically trigger the touch switch, press the "power on" button, and the photoelectric recorder will start recording automatically. Press the "start motor" button to rotate the collection chamber and storage chamber.
8. The instrument automatically records and stops working depending on the situation. Close the small door of the reservoir.
9. Calculate the zeta potential based on photoelectric recording and parameters such as current and time, and save it in a file. The experimental process is shown in Figure 1.

10. Clean the instrument, remove the electrodes and store them in a specially prepared storage solution.
