Gamry's eQCM 10M ™ It is an electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance (EQCM) used for rapid impedance scanning. For anyone studying interface processes, EQCM is one of the most valuable tools in their toolbox. Corrosion, ion embedding, ion adsorption, polymer growth, and sensor binding events are all interface processes that cause mass changes. These quality changes can be measured by monitoring the resonance frequency of oscillating quartz crystals.
The eQCM 10M is a universal instrument that can accommodate any crystal with a frequency range of 1-10 MHz in any pool or bracket. Its resolution can detect ng/cm2Quality changes at a certain level. This is even lighter than a single layer of material! We also provide all the materials you need with the system - eQCM 10M Teflon ® Electrochemical cell, 10 MHz gold coated crystal (5x), cable, manual, and software.
The eQCM 10M rapidly scans the frequency window around two resonant frequencies (for explanations of these resonant frequencies, please refer to the eQCM Basic Knowledge Application Note). The advantage of scanning through two resonant frequencies is that you no longer need to cancel parasitic capacitance to maintain oscillation. In addition, the relevant impedance spectrum is displayed every time a data point is obtained, allowing you to gain a deeper understanding of the formation of bubbles on the electrode or incorrect pool settings. Having two resonant frequencies enables you to perform basic dissipation monitoring. WhensAndpWhen responding similarly, the membrane is already relatively hard, and whensAndpWhen the response is different, the membrane has not hardened yet.
You can use a resonator to adjust the driving amplitude of the crystal. When working in ionic liquids (ILs) or viscous solutions with particularly high damping, this is very important. The ability to manually increase the driving amplitude of high load crystals has significant advantages over direct dissipation or time-resolved techniques.
