The cylinder of the large filter machine is welded with steel plates, and the cylinder of the small size is cast. Some old-fashioned filter machine cylinders are made of thick wooden boards. The outer surface of the cylinder is divided into a certain number of axially connected filter chambers along the circumferential direction by spacers, and the chambers are strictly sealed and not ventilated to each other. Laying filter plates in the filtration chamber, on the one hand, forms channels for the circulation of filtrate; On the other hand, it plays a role in supporting the filter cloth. The entire cylinder is wrapped with filter cloth, and in order to ensure the sealing between each chamber, the filter cloth is embedded in the rope groove of the partition with rubber strips, hemp ropes or brown ropes. Then, use a winding mechanism to wrap many steel wires at intervals of 50-80mm along the axial direction outside the cylinder, and fix the filter cloth on the cylinder. At one end of the cylinder, there is a filter accessory called the "throat pipe", which has the same number of holes as the filter chamber.
