CS-200 Konica Minolta Color Brightness Meter
The CS-200 can achieve high-precision brightness and chromaticity measurements comparable to spectroscope instruments, while retaining the simplicity, ease of use, and affordability of tristimulus instruments.
The CS-200 is equipped with 40 sensors and calculates using a spectral sensitivity characteristic curve (isochromatic function) that matches the sensitivity of the naked eye. Through this newly developed spectral fitting method, more accurate tristimulus values (XYZ of red, green, and blue) can be obtained than traditional tristimulus colorimeters, achieving higher precision.
Can handle a wide range of brightness levels (from 0.01 cd/m)2Low brightness up to 2000000 cd/m2Measure at a high brightness angle of 0.1 °.
Three measurement angles can be selected: 1 °, 0.2 °, and 0.1 °. The measurement angle can be switched according to the target being measured (from display devices or other objects that require measuring a large area to objects that require measuring a small area such as car audio control panels, car instrument panels, and small LCDs).
CS-200 Konica Minolta Color Brightness MeterApplication field
Various types of light sources can be measured using CS-200, such as signal lights, traffic lights, airport lighting, lights, etc LED、 Almost all objects that emit light, such as cathode ray tubes, LCDs, PDPs, etc. Due to the development of information technology business, the demand for diversified media in the market is gradually increasing. In addition, with the launch of comprehensive digital broadcasting services, the research and development of various display devices centered on plasma display screens and LCDs has accelerated. The innovation of LED technology has brought significant breakthroughs to the development of LED products, including traffic lights, backlighting for reflective LCDs, and large-sized outdoor display screens.

background knowledge
There are two ways to determine the brightness and chromaticity values of a light source.
The three stimulus type instrument uses three sensors (red, green, blue) to measure the light source, and the sensitivity of these sensors is similar to the sensitivity of the naked eye to light. The filter used to achieve this sensitivity has limited accuracy, so the three stimulus instrument cannot provide accurate readings for all types of light sources. If a certain spectral distribution (similar to the spectral distribution of the light source used for calibrating instruments) is used to measure the light source, high accuracy can be achieved.
The CS-200 uses this second method, which measures the spectral emissivity of a light source and calculates it using a spectral sensitivity characteristic curve (isochromatic function) that matches the sensitivity of the naked eye. By using this method, it is possible to avoid filter mismatch and obtain more accurate measurement results.

When the measurement angle is 0.2 °, the received light amount is approximately 1/25 of that at 1 °.
Therefore, the brightness targeted by the same repeatability is 25 times lower than that at 1 °.
When the measurement angle is 0.1 °, the received light amount is approximately 1/100 of that at 1 °.
Therefore, the brightness targeted by the same repeatability is 100 times lower than that at 1 °.
