The AEROTRAK Nanoparticle Aerosol Monitor 9000 displays the surface area of nanoparticles deposited in the lungs, corresponding to the ICRP lung deposition curve, including the tracheobronchial (TB) and alveolar (A) of the human respiratory tract. The AEROTRAK 9000 monitor is a portable, real-time display of surface area concentration and a diffusion charge type electrostatic meter with data recording function for real-time surface area concentration reading and data recording.

Materials scientists and aerosol physicists define nanoparticle sizes as 1-100 nanometers (0.001-0.1 micrometers). Particles within this size range can deposit in various areas of the respiratory tract. Nanoparticles are too small to be measured by traditional mass based methods. Recent studies have shown that the surface area of nanoparticles is highly correlated with adverse health effects.

The AEROTRAK 9000 Nano Aerosol Monitor features an easy-to-use color touchscreen that displays real-time data, graphics, and statistical results, including 8-hour Time Weighted Average (TWA) and the smallest, largest, and average surface area concentrations. You can also customize the programming sampling protocol. AEROTRAK 9000, with its convenient data recording and long battery life, is an ideal workplace exposure monitoring device that expands sampling and research in the workplace.
